We were delighted to be presented with our ten year award at a recent Investors in People (IIP) celebration event in London recognising the fact that we were first accredited as an IIP company way back in 1997. Lawson Dodd scouts for street artists

We popped down to the International Meeting of Styles graffiti festival on Saturday to soak up the vibe and recruit people for a street art competition (hyperlink to www.senecawall.co.uk) we’re running on behalf of our client, Seneca. We have a 175 metre wall that needs some attention and we’re on the look out for street artists who could win the chance to make their mark.

We found some hugely talented street artists in action. Maybe it was the atmosphere or maybe it was the paint fumes but we left on a high having made new friends from the art collective who ran the event, End of the Line.

100% Design

I went to the 100% Design Show on Sunday (25 September) which turned out to be a really pleasant place to walk around and absorb the inspiration of creative minds.

Over 400 exhibitors from around the world took part, from industrial designs to homewares.

Another Incredible Success for Fashion Shenzhen

The Fashion Shenzhen show on Monday 19 September turned out to be a great success. Around 150 distinguished guests attended the reception, including the Chinese Ambassador Mr. Liu Xiaoming (third on the left) and his wife Madam Hu Pinghua (third on the right) together with Stephen Phillips, Chief Executive of the China-Britain Business Council (first on the left) as well as Pandemonia who definitely created quite a stir!

Not only was the event enjoyed by the VIPs, our guests from the media liked it too. In addition to China Daily, China Central TV Station and Singtao Daily, LondonLovesBusiness published a piece mentioning the twenty or so brands which exhibited as well as the two collections featured during the catwalk show; Sex, Shopping and Chocolate was also impressed by the designs from China – click here for Madison’s interviews and report about the event. Fashion Shenzhen 2011

We are assisting the Shenzhen Garment Industry Association with their Fashion Shenzhen show during London Fashion Week for the second year running! This year’s show will be in the afternoon on Monday 19 September.

Speciality & Fine Food Fair 2011

I’m just back from the Speciality & Fine Food Fair at Olympia. None of our clients were exhibiting this time, but it’s always a great opportunity to see what’s happening in the industry and meet new brands and people.

The first thing that really stood out was the big focus on products that had won Great Taste Awards. All were displayed in ceremonial glass cabinets along the spine of the exhibition centre highlighting why entering and hopefully winning these awards is so valuable.

Swedish high tea pop-up comes to Soho

The last few days Soho Square was transformed into a pop-up ‘Fika Parlour’ serving Fika, the Swedish version of English High Tea. The event featured a free Pop Up Fika tent and Fika Picnic where guests could indulge in a special blended coffee and seven delicious cookies, each with a unique recipe.

The event allowed Jan Hedh, a well known Swedish chocolatier, pastry chef and cookbook author, to promote the Swedish holiday destination, Skåne and introduce the Swedish custom of Fika to the English. Jan together with waitresses in traditional Swedish dress shared lovely anecdotes about the origins of the cookies and got everybody into the spirit of the Swedish high tea.
There was also the chance to enjoy some Swedish “apple art” from renowned Swedish artist Emma Karp Lundström who works using apples from the Skåne region (sometimes as many as 35,000!) to depict scenes from the area she grew up in.
